Flagship Ventures Closes $270M Earl Stage Venture Capital Fund
Flagship Ventures, a leading venture capital firm focused on healthcare and sustainability, today announced the year-end 2011 close of its largest fund to date, raising $270 million for Flagship Ventures Fund IV L.P., exceeding its target of $250 million. Investors in Flagship Ventures Fund IV include pension funds, foundations, fund-of-funds, corporations and individuals. Joining prior fund investors were several new limited partners.

Canaan Partners Closes $600 Million Fund, Canaan IX
Canaan Partners, a multi-billion dollar, global venture capital firm, announced today the closing of a $600 million fund, Canaan IX. The new fund brings total capital under management to $3.5 billion and will enable the firm to continue backing visionary entrepreneurs who are building disruptive global companies in the technology and healthcare sectors. Canaan received strong demand for the new fund from its existing limited partner base, as well as select new limited partners.
